Ionian
coast
Valle Rita is situated along the Ionian Coast, a few kilometres from
Metaponto, Policoro and Nova Siri to the south, Taranto to the north.
The main attractions of this territory are the limpid sea -water, the
unspoilt nature and the magnificent remains of the ancient Greece.
Matera and the
Sassi
Ancient town, now patrimony of UNESCO: visiting Matera you’ll
enjoy an extraordinary voyage into History plunging yourself in un unreal
scenery. Matera is only 40 km from Valle Rita.
Natural Parks
The National Park of Pollino is the biggest protected area in Italy;
it is situated between Basilicata and Calabria (70 km from Valle Rita).

Visiting Matera you’ll have the possibility to walk through this
park full of natural and historical witnesses. This place is unique
in its kind among the Italian natural protected areas (30 km from Valle
Rita).
Park of Gallipoli Cognato wood on the Lucanian Dolomites
The green heart of Basilicata, a large area surrounded by peaks of the
Lucanian Dolomites. An ideal place for those who love birwatching trekking,
mountaineering, mountain bike and excursions. The Park doesn’t
lack historical, cultural and gastronomic surprises (70 km from Valle
Rita).
Basilicata
Many surprises await you: the historic area of Vulture with
the Monticchio Lakes and the Castles of Fredrick II, Maratea, Sirino,
Grumento and other little but interesting villages.
